Again, Emefiele fails to attend House hearing

Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has again written to the House of Representatives, informing it of his unavailability to brief them on the new withdrawal policy of the bank.Information Guide Nigeria

In a letter by Deputy Governor Corporate Services Directorate, Edward Adamu, addressed to the clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, the CBN said Mr Emefiele is currently on official assignment abroad.

PREMIUM TIMES reports that the Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila read the letter during plenary on Tuesday.NYSC portal

Mr Emefiele was billed to appear before the lower chamber on Tuesday on the issues of cash withdrawal limit.

The letter reads in part, “Regrettably, the governor is unavailable to brief the House of Representatives at this time, because he has other scheduled official engagements he is currently addressing abroad.JAMB Result

“Accordingly, he has requested that we respectively convey his inability to honour this invitation on the rescheduled date. The governor regrets this and will contact the House of Representatives as soon as he returns to the country from his official assignment”.
