Prior to the return of the club season, Sancho has been training in the Netherlands in an effort to improve his conditioning and sharpness.
Ten Hag disclosed before to United’s Carabao Cup match against Burnley that Sancho is presently ineligible for selection, and was asked about the 22-year-old on Sky Sports following a 2-0 victory on Wednesday evening.
When asked if there was any further update on Sancho, Ten Hag simply replied: “No.”
Sancho began his tenure under Ten Hag in a promising manner, scoring in United’s season-opening 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool.
He was unable to continue this level of play and missed out on a spot in England’s World Cup squad for 2022. Marcus Rashford, who similarly fell out of favor with Gareth Southgate in the past year, was selected to travel to Qatar and played a pivotal role in England’s march to the quarterfinals.
