Twitter bans users from linking to Facebook, Instagram and other rival platforms

A number of competing social media networks, including Facebook, Instagram, and Mastodon, will no longer be accessible to Twitter users via links.Information Guide Nigeria

Twitter Support stated on Sunday that it will “no longer permit free marketing of certain social media networks on Twitter.”

“Specifically, we will remove accounts created exclusively for the purpose of promoting other social networks, as well as content including links or usernames for the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr, and Post,” the statement continued.

The message stated that “cross-posting content from any social media site” will continue to be permitted.

And “links or usernames to social networking networks not specified above,” such as Parler, TikTok, or LinkedIn, are still allowed, according to the statement.

Twitter did not explain why these seven domains were on the ban and others were not.
